Battersea Central School 1936
Vic Myers write "I have a feeling that this
was a small team from the main PT squad that performed maybe at the
Christmas Concert in December 1936 or it may have been the team that
appear at the Congress of Physical Medicine when the Duke of York
attended. I am not sure which - do you remember. You will remember
the lad in the centre in the white shirt - Hopkins, whom we called
"Hoppy" - he had a club foot and couldn't take part in box work, etc.,
but Mr. Williams included him as the one who helped us of the Horse and
Box. Also the young lad centre sitting was Clements who was in the
Alpha class below our year , he lived a few doors away from me."

In 1936 our Physical Training
team made a film for Gaumont British, which was introduced by the then
Minister of Health, Sir Kingsley Wood, and the President of the Board of
Education, This was shown around the cinema circuits. We also put on a
demonstration at a Congress of Physical Medicine. We had a photo take of
us with our PT master, Mr. L.C. Williams
With Bill Applebee standing next to L.C.
Williams and me in the back row third from left next to Andrews.
