The Reunion held Saturday 5th July 2003
It would be fair to say that this year's gathering went very well indeed, the weather was its best, the food and drink were up to standard, but best of all was the Company!
The number of attendees was consistent with that to which we have become accustomed, some forty-six in total. Certain regulars were unable to make it but then we had several attending for the first time with promises for them to continue. They bring new nostalgic stories and resurrect some of those, which we have long since forgotten. It is further interesting to learn that we are still
uncovering past friends and school pals. It is good to see that we are attracting some of the old boys from Surrey Lane who were not evacuated with us. Obviously there are many still out there, the future blossoms!
Once again your generosity came to the fore, an amount of £80.00 was amassed this was distributed by a donation to, the Village Hall and flowers to our Village Ladies for their catering efforts. The residue of £8.00 has been sent to Cliff as a contribution towards our Website [see webmasters note below]
The Petersfield Herald was longwinded in sending me a copy of the group photograph despite having received payment well in advance, it was not printed in the paper, but there was a very good illustration of our 'tea ladies'. I hope the picture of the group will amuse you.

The individual 'portraits', which I took, came out very well and rather flattering, I'm going to keep them! That is after Cliff has had his wicked way with them. More….Hawkley Family
Unfortunately I missed a few people and names but hopefully I will be able to remedy these omissions in the fullness of time, this will give me a 'full house'.
If you can find time to look at our Website you will find that Cliff has updated it already, he never sleeps! There are some odd poses on the screen well worth studying.
It is suggested that next year we hold, the
Reunion on the 10th of July 2004 which is actually the second Saturday in the month. Please put this date in your diaries, a reminder will be sent nearer the day.
It now, only remains for me to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Best wishes Harry Withers

The day has come and gone, all 46 of us from around the UK enjoyed good company, food and drink and nice dry warm weather. The sequence above shows our happy smiling faces reliving happy memories of long lost days.
Harry Withers thanked our village ladies, Margaret, Doris, Jean, and the other Doris for providing tea, cakes and a pleasant environment, also the Village Hall Committee for
the use of their establishment. We wish to thank Harry for his organisational skills of keeping us all well informed and making sure all the agenda was in place, well done Harry.
We missed our Australian and Canadian contingent, but had e-mails wishing us all to have a great time, and via these pages we reciprocate their greetings and say book next year now!
